Money boxes, or piggy banks, have long been a symbol of saving and financial literacy, especially for children. Originating as early as the 15th century in Europe, early versions were made from clay and shaped like pigs, a symbol of prosperity.
Over time, they evolved into a variety of forms and materials, becoming both practical tools and cherished keepsakes.
