Good news, you don’t need to wait until you arrive to open an Australian bank account with our Trans-Tasman account opening process.
To learn more and apply for available bank accounts with ANZ Australia, call us on +61 3 9683 9999#. International toll charges apply.
To avoid international toll charges, you can call ANZ Australia using our telephone at your local ANZ NZ branch.
After calling, you’ll get an email confirming your application which includes information on what you’ll need to verify your identity and your reason for opening an Australian bank account. To verify your identity, you’ll need to visit your local ANZ NZ branch with your documents.
Once your identity has been verified (this can take up to 2 days), you’ll receive a confirmation call from the branch you visited.
You’ll then need to call ANZ Australia on +61 3 9683 9999# (or visit your local ANZ NZ branch who can assist you to call us) to open the account
To get started, register for Internet Banking. Once you arrive in Australia, download the ANZ App and, if you have ordered an ANZ Access Visa Debitdisclaimercard, add it to your digital wallet. Click here to see how. Physical cards are to be collected from your nominated mailing address. We’ll be in touch to help.
#You are only able to apply for an Australian ANZ bank account by calling us Monday to Friday 8am - 8pm Melbourne time (10am - 10pm New Zealand time).
