ANZ has been announced as a major sponsor of the 2025 You Are Not Alone (YANA) Conference, scheduled to take place on 28 May at the historic Abbotsford Convent in Melbourne.
The conference marks the 50th anniversary of YANA Family Violence Service, Victoria’s first women’s refuge, and its commitment to address family violence and provide holistic support to victim survivors.
The event will bring together advocates, service providers, and community members to reflect on progress and discuss opportunities for the sector.
ANZ Head of Social Impact and Community Partnerships, Janet Liu, emphasised the importance of the sponsorship.
“In our mission to shape a world where people and communities thrive, a core component of that is ensuring that there is support in place for customers and members of the community who might need it.
“We are thrilled to be a sponsor of the 2025 YANA conference, not only because YANA do such vital work, but because it gives us an opportunity to learn from the sector and ultimately improve how we can help.”
This event is one of the initiatives demonstrating ANZ’s commitment to this important issue. It follows the announcement of partnerships with Thriving Communities Australia (TCA)’s One Stop One Story (OSOS) Hub – a platform enabling frontline workers to connect and refer customers to support systems through a single, secure access point – and DV Safe Phone, a not-for-profit that provides free phones to victims of domestic violence across Australia.
A key aspect of the sponsorship will be the strong alignment with ANZ’s financial education program, MoneyMinded, which empowers adults to build essential money management skills, knowledge and confidence. A specialised module for those experiencing family violence was introduced in 2016, which acts as an education tool for family violence specialists and sector workers.
YANA Chief Executive Officer, Jan Khan, said: “We are deeply excited to have ANZ on board as a sponsor for this event. It’s incredibly important that we have the backing of leading institutions, working together to ensure that survivors are able to access the support and tools needed to take control of their lives.
“At YANA, we are proud to provide a service that dignifies individual choices, experiences, cultures and rights to self-determination, which aligns perfectly with the purpose of MoneyMinded.”
