Our purpose drives everything we do at ANZ, including the choices we make each day about those we serve and how we operate. Our people play an active role in our commitment to:

Financial wellbeing

Improve the financial wellbeing of our people, customers and communities by helping them make the most of their money throughout their lives.

Environmental sustainability

Support household, business and financial practices that improve environmental sustainability.

Affodable housing

Improve the availability of suitable and affordable housing options for all Australians.

Workplace giving

Our employees in Australia can make contributions to any of our almost 30 nominated community partners through regular payroll deductions. Employee donations (up to $5,000 per employee in a tax year) are double matched by ANZ.

Together with our employees, we donated almost $3 million to charitable organisations in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji in our 2024 Financial Year.

Donate your time

ANZ provides employees with at least one day of volunteer leave each year in accordance with ANZ policy, making it easy for them to make a positive impact in their community. In our 2024 Financial Year, our people volunteered 11,380 working days to community organisations.

Since 2018, GoodCompany have recognised us as one of the top companies in Australia for providing employees with numerous ways to give back to the community.

Dan, Head of Inclusion, Brotherhood of St Laurence

Our decades-long partnership with ANZ has been invaluable to us. Together, we share a strong commitment to improving the lives of low-income Australians through innovative programs like MoneyMinded and Saver Plus. Our partnership has empowered thousands of people to achieve financial wellbeing and independence. We deeply value the positive, lasting change we have created together and look forward to continuing this important work.

Supporting First Nations-owned businesses

As part of our 2021 – 2024 Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) we spent $37.8 million with Indigenous businesses.

We also work with Baidam Solutions, a First Nations-owned software and cyber security company that provides educational and employment opportunities for young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people looking for careers in the software and cyber security area.

Hear from some of our people

Caroline, Executive Director Institutional Queensland, Brisbane

Working at ANZ aligns with my commitment to making a difference. The World Vision child sponsorship contributions I make through workplace giving are doubled by the bank, amplifying the positive impact we make helping children thrive in their communities. It’s rewarding to be part of an organisation that prioritises social responsibility and empowers employees to give back.

Zoe, Financial Crime Portfolio Learning Lead, Melbourne

I donate to the RSPCA every fortnight through ANZ’s Workplace Giving Program. I do this because workplace giving allows me to make regular pre-tax donations to support the RSPCA's efforts in animal welfare, care, essentials, foster programs, and rehoming animals in their system.

Tansy, Senior ESG lawyer, Melbourne

As chair of ANZ's pro bono committee since 2021, I coordinate programs with law firms to foster community impact. Key partnerships include Youthlaw, TalkLaw, and KWM School of Opportunity, providing legal aid and mentoring. I align our pro bono efforts with ANZ's social impact goals, enhancing community and corporate engagement.
