ANZ Chief Executive Officer Nuno Matos says the lender’s full year result highlights a franchise with a strong competitive position and a presence in the world’s fastest growing economic region, Asia.

Matos – delivering his first full year result with the bank after starting in the CEO role in May – said the bank is focussed on extending its leadership in the strong performing Institutional and New Zealand divisions.

“We have the right strategy, what I call ANZ 2030, to unlock the full potential of those four divisions to our shareholders and to our customers,” Matos said.
